Smart pi DVA GTFS v1.6.71 – Release Notes

Release: June 2026

Recommendation: All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this version.

Features

  • Added Alternate Announcement trigger type for rules that should only be posted through trip transformation suppression alternate mappings.
  • Added feature to filter services for whole feed based on Regex.
  • Added Real-time change recording feature for a particular stop in Analyze Trip utility screen.
  • Updated UI for Analyse Trip screen and Trip Transformation for business rules.
  • Updated trip transformation, UI improvements and added feature for announcing alternative business rule(s).

Improvements

Trip Transformation & Suppression
  • Added support for multi-trip and service-pattern suppression mappings, alternate announcement rule exceptions, and duplicate conflict validation.
  • Introduced manual trip transformation mapping with suppression UI, validation, and runtime suppression for headsign changes, splits, and joins.
  • Added headsign change detection and announcement suppression using block_id, vehicle_id, or both.
  • Improved platform refresh so stale platform IDs are rebound against the current timetable feed (including after feed replacement or app restart).
  • Added platform refresh action for linked services so dropdowns can be reloaded without leaving Create/Edit screens.
Delayed & Repeat Announcement Rules
  • Fixed delayed departure repeat rules that were triggering before the configured evaluation window, while still allowing late real-time requalification.
  • Repeat scheduling now only schedules the next announcement, refreshes real-time data on each callback, rebuilds from the latest stop time, and stops/reschedules the chain when no longer valid.
  • Allowed repeats to start when a qualifying real-time delay arrives after the original evaluation window (provided departure is still before the stop-before cutoff).
  • Delayed departure rules now correctly use the delayed departure time for evaluation.
  • Fixed repeat scheduler dispatch and prevented duplicate multi-announcement scheduling.
  • Fixed Process Next Service Only tolerance for delayed arrival rules and Delayed Arrival > 0 handling.
Real-time Handling & On-Time Logic
  • Simplified and refactored the real-time memory cache (per-trip instance container) with improved DB fallback diagnostics and old-feed cleanup.
  • Restricted delayed, prior, and timetable-change triggers to direct stop-level real-time updates only; backtracked data is used for logging only.
  • Added schedule relationship filtering so on-time, delayed, prior, and timetable-change rules respect valid SCHEDULED relationships and ignore cancelled/skipped/invalid cases.
  • Improved on-time fallback and suppression logic (including 3-minute suppression scoped to the same StopId/TripId/mode, and protection against conflicting recent delayed/prior announcements).
  • On-time rules can fall back to the timetable only under controlled conditions (feed unavailable or confirmed SCHEDULED).
Loop X Enhancements
  • Automatically prefixes “due” / “due in” for Loop X triggers (e.g. “due in 3 minutes” or “due now”).
  • Loop X services are now sorted by due arrival time so multiple destinations are handled correctly.
  • Added new Loop X actions: ArrivalScheduledTime and ArrivalLastStop.
  • Process only the relevant action types present in the rule.
  • Various ordering and action-related bug fixes.
Request-Stop Support
  • Request-stop stations are now included in GTFS stopping patterns.
  • Request-stop services (GTFS pickup/drop-off types 2 and 3) are eligible for on-time, prior, delayed, and timetable-change rule evaluation.
Analyse Trips, UI & Logging
  • Analyse Trips improved with faster queries, advanced filters, trip auto-filtering, and updated UI.
  • Updated UI text and added checkboxes for business rule create/edit screens.
  • Significantly improved order and application logging (real-time status detail, feed name, cycle information, priority/blocking reasons, dynamic parameters for repeats, etc.).
  • Optimised GTFS application log filtering and performance.
Other Fixes & Improvements
  • Fixed processing of trips that span multiple days.
  • Fixed missing or out-of-order content in orders.
  • Various smaller stability, logging, and performance improvements (including rule processor tuning and separation of clean-up from feed fetch tasks).

This release focuses on improving real-time reliability, trip transformation/suppression (including headsign changes, splits and joins), and the accuracy of delayed, repeat and on-time announcement rules.

As always, please report any issues or feedback via the service portal.
